Products

Items, services and stock — one source of truth.

Full product catalogue with items and services, product groups, price groups and suppliers. Stock management, cost multipliers, automatic pricing on orders and direct sync to E-conomic.

  • Items and services in one catalogue with SKU and EAN
  • Product groups with cost multiplier and accounting codes
  • Price groups for differentiated customer pricing
  • Automatic E-conomic sync of items and groups

The catalogue that drives the entire workshop's pricing

Every item has SKU, EAN, name, description, unit, cost price, recommended sales price, deposit and fee. Stock management can be enabled per item with available and reserved quantities, and negative stock can be allowed or blocked.

Product groups are where the magic happens: cost multiplier per group, default supplier, default unit and linked accounting codes. Price groups give differentiated pricing for business customers, repeat customers and retail. Combined with pricing rules for maximum flexibility, and items sync automatically to E-conomic.

Products (items)

Create and manage every item and service in one catalogue.

  • SKU and EAN

Item number (SKU) and EAN code for unique identification.

  • Name, description and unit

Pcs, metres, litres, hours or any other unit.

  • Standard item or package

Type can be standalone item or product package.

  • Active/inactive

Deactivate items no longer in use — without losing history.

Per-item prices

  • Cost price

Purchase price for internal margin calculation. Shown to management, not the customer.

  • Recommended sales price

Default sale price — can be adjusted per line on the order.

  • Deposit

Refundable deposit amount — e.g. for batteries or packaging.

  • Fee

Fixed surcharge per unit — e.g. environmental fee.

  • Price lock

Prevents pricing rules from overriding the set price.

Stock

  • Enable stock per item

Only items that need stock management — parts yes, labour no.

  • Available and reserved

See real available stock and how much is reserved for open orders.

  • Block or allow negative stock

Choose whether back-orders are allowed per item.

Product groups

Product groups organise the catalogue and drive pricing and bookkeeping.

  • Group name

E.g. "Parts", "Oils", "Labour hour", "Tires".

  • Cost multiplier

Percentage uplift on cost for the entire group — automatic margin control.

  • Default supplier

Attach a supplier to all items in the group.

  • Default unit

Set the unit for all new items in the group.

  • Accounting codes

Link the accounting code for VATable and VAT-exempt items plus accrual.

Suppliers

  • Unlimited number

Create as many suppliers as you have — Bosch, Continental, Castrol, etc.

  • Automatic prefix

Three-letter prefix generated automatically (e.g. "BOB" for Bosch).

  • Cost multiplier

Percentage uplift on every item from this supplier.

  • Hide from pickers

Inactive suppliers can be hidden without losing history.

  • Price group exceptions

Exclude specific customer price groups from the supplier's items.

Price groups (customer price groups)

Differentiated pricing for different customer segments.

  • Business, repeat, retail

Each group can have its own prices. Price is calculated automatically when an item is added to an order.

  • Combined with pricing rules

Maximum flexibility via the rules module (percentage, fixed amount or fixed price).

  • Automatic VAT

Prices include VAT (25% default) with per-item VAT-exemption option.

Integration with sales orders and accounting

  • Automatic price calculation

Items are added to orders with the correct price based on the customer's price group.

  • Stock count in search

Available quantity is shown in search results — so the mechanic sees stock at a glance.

  • Items in packages

Items from product packages are grouped visually on the order.

  • Sync to E-conomic

Items and product groups sync automatically — new items are created on first use.

  • Dimensions in E-conomic

Product groups can sync as dimensions for advanced segmentation.

Frequently asked questions

Can I have different prices for different customer types?+
Yes. Price groups give differentiated pricing — business, repeat, retail etc. The price is calculated automatically when the item is added to an order based on the customer's price group.
How does ZiiX manage margin?+
A cost multiplier can be set per product group and per supplier. The system calculates the sales price as cost × multiplier. Shop rules can additionally adjust the multiplier per shop.
Are all items stocked?+
No. Stock management is enabled per item — typically parts are stocked, labour is not. For every stocked item, available and reserved quantity is shown.
Do items sync to the accounting system?+
Yes. ZiiX syncs items and product groups to E-conomic. New items are created automatically in E-conomic on first use on an invoice.
What is the price lock?+
A flag that prevents pricing rules from overriding the set price. Used when a specific item should keep its price regardless of group or customer rules.
